"Guys and Dolls" National Tour Review

Last night, I attended a performance of the 2014/15 national tour of "Guys and Dolls". This show is truly A BROADWAY SHOW. Of course, a majority of the shows I see are Broadway shows. But this show, is one of those shows (like "Gypsy", 42nd Street", etc). that IS Broadway!

From the second the show began, I loved every single second of it. The entire cast seemed to be spot on. The music, choreography, and everything.

Christopher Swan was a really great and funny Nathan Detroit. Swan and Lauren Weinberg as Adelaide were stealing the show with their strong singing and acting. They do a phenomenal job in their roles.

Matthew J. Taylor and Kayleen Seidl as Sky Masterson and Sarah Brown were probably the strongest performers in the show. Both of them have such pure and rich singing voice and gave me chills whenever either one of them sang. Taylor's rendition of "Luck Be a Lady" was absolutely amazing.

The set and costumes were absolutely gorgeous. The entire score was sung flawlessly. It being 2015, I wasn't expecting to hear the same spice singers back in the golden ages of Broadway had. They had that same spice. Adelaide's numbers were adorable and hilarious. In my opinion, the best songs in the show were the songs that Taylor and Seidl sang and "Sit Down Your Rocking the Boat".  The orchestra shined and I got chills the moment the Overture began.

Just another comment: I find it cool and weird how the entire show fit onstage with extra room.

Overall, I give the show 4 stars. I recommend you to go see it if it comes near you. You will not be disappointed.
